I tend to agree with Joe. You need reach, that is in effect numbers.

I happily connect with everyone. (Use this link to connect. My e-mail is frankmandix@gmail.com). This approach does to a certain extent mean that I am in it for the numbers but the end result is better reach, better answers to your questions and more interesting questions.

There is the chance that somebody is a fake or a connection is in it just to increase his/hers numbers, but does it really matter. Not to me.

The reach: this is the key element. On LI, having it means a lot of connections. On Xing, for instance, I don't care about the number of contacts. But on LI, I am trying to be able to reach 50% of the total crowd (assumption: about 50% pf the LI members are static with 1 or 2 contacts). Now I don't have to invite anymore since it comes by itself
