Moderated Forums 2007/06/18 08:26 Karma: 1
Everyone,

I would like to know what type of moderated forums would interest those here on The Lions' Lair? There are a few ideas I have specifically on:

1). Startups
2). Paradigm Shifting Ideas
3). Security

Thanks for taking the lead on this. We can create any type of forum with moderation, non-moderation, closed members, open members, etc.

It probably makes sense to divide forums into --

Topical
Professional/Industry
Regional/Geographic

I'm sure we'll get more organized about this over time but for now just let me know and I'll set up the moderators and permissions require to set-up your forum

I choose: SECURITY (When it gets rather huge one aspect or the other, we can break it down to Information Security and Physical Security), but for now leave it at SECURITY in general.

Also, the forum for PARADIGM SHIFTING TECHNOLOGIES/IDEAS should be created. These particular forum will be for those who are inventing them, creating a startup around them, formulation of ideas, "wish to see" situations. Anything from the low tech to the exotic should be welcome into this forum. Also, those in the forum are welcome to present their ideas without any form of ridicule which is important in the communication process.

OMG! Michael, you posted this request in June 2007 --- FOUR months ago, and received zero responses.

WHY?

I believe the Yahoogroup is draining all of the activitiy from this site, and again, I ask that Christian consider deleting the group. Among the other problems with it, and all Yahoogroups, is that Google archives everything, including emails of the posters.

If we are going to make the LIONs group work, we need activity here.

I was going to suggest that we need regional fora, and line of business fora, as well.

I'm also volunteering to moderate some fora.

Grayson,

I agree with you 100%. If this is the LIONS' Network then it should be the LIONS' network.

I came here looking in hopes of finding advice on how to maximize the return (to me and my contacts)on the time spent building a contact list. Unfortunately all I seem to find is just the list building part and not much of that. Industry specific forums can be found anywhere, a LIons' forum, in my opinion, should stress the LI.

Oh well,

If I am looking to connect to LIONs in a particular state, having the forums separated by state would make it easier to find the LIONs in whichever state I'm looking for connections in.
