New user Curious about membership lists and LinkedIn

I tried to import the most recent list into the LinkedIn database and it appears the list must include a first and last name in addition to the e-mail address. Does anyone know if this is a new requirement? From a list of about 1,200 it only allowed about 55 to be uploaded. I'mguessing that those were e-mail addresses where a first and last name could be determined. Any ideas?
