When you are new to blogging it's very tough to bring traffic to your site even though the contents are really good, but why? It's because no one knows that your blog exists. It is not just enough to have a good blog with good contents but advertising is as equally important to bring morereaders to your site.

So how do I do it?

Well there are many ways like posting comments in niche blogs, using trackbacks, be a part of social networking and so on.... Here I am going to talk about social networking.

When I started blogging my focus was only on writing good contents but that never helped me bring traffic to my blog. Like many other network bloggers I too avoided some of the social networking communities because I felt that spending time socializing and networking takes away from other things. It's why I didn't get involved with FaceBook and MySpace.

Ok what is a big about social networking?

It is one place where so many people come and visit and hence it's an opportunity for you to socialize with them which means more chances of people visiting your blog which means traffic.   

When I decided to give a try with Facebook it was amazing!!! I received many hits in a single day. Believe me it works. There are so many other social networking sites which are really good.

Some of the social networking sites I would suggest you to join are Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn. You can also use the bookmarking sites like Digg, EzineArticles, Delicious and StumbleUpon. If you are lazy to go into so many bookmarking sites then you can use OnlyWire which bookmarks in you in 16 social networking sites and helps you draw lots of traffic.

These are the simple things that together take minutes at a time. The more social networking sites you take part in, the better your chances of driving more traffic to your blog.

Try adding social networking to your blogging schedule, all you need is an extra 15 to 30 minutes a week. Once you do all the above then come back and tell me if you noticed a difference in traffic. I am sure the answer is yes.
