Life's greatest decisionPosted by Zadoc Anthony Henry in Untagged |
Do you know what life's greteast decision is? Is it who you are going to marry, or what job you should take, or is it where you should live? Or would it be how much money you should have saved for you retirement years?
Those are important decisions, but none is as important aswhere you will spend eternity. You see, my friend, eternity is not a thousand years, or a million years! It' longer!!! That's why all the aforementioned decisions are so insignificant in comparison to this all-important one.
You might be wondering, "Is there really an eternity?" The answer to this is very simple. I'll put it like this: Jesus said there is, and He always told the truth. But here is the good news, he said whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
We have all sinned and each one of us deserves the eternal punishment of God, in hell forever. However, Jesus never sinned. And because God loved you and me so much he sent Jesus into the world to take our sins. He therefore, became guilty for us, was punished for us, died for us, and was buried for us. But after three days and three nights, God raised him from the dead! Over 500 people saw the resurrected Christ, at one time. Some (naturally) at first doubted, but after repeated appearances to many of them, they accepted the good news that one man had defeated death, for all of us. Eye witnesses such as Matthew, John, Paul, and Peter wrote inspired words about this occurence which is undoudtedly the greteast event in the history of humanity. Now having defeated death, Jesus is alive for all of eternity. He will never die again.
What should you then do? Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and say these important words: Jesus, you are my Shepherd. I am your sheep. You lead. I will follow. You lived perfectly for me, was punished for me, died for me me , and defeated death for me. You are my Lord." If you follow the recently highlighted words, you are saved, and even if you die, Jesus will raise you up to live forever like he is living right now.
I hope you chose eternal life as your life's greatest decision.
