LinkedIn is currently working on group functionality. This functionality has been around for a while, but outbursted some time ago when LI opened groups
for all. Anyone can now create a group and browsing groups is now even easier with search. Unfortunately new functionality doesn't always come without side effects. Today on Friday 15 July, 2008 I came across a new problem with managing my groups. Although I have faced some minor misbehavior earlier today's oddity made me wonder, what's going on back there. See the attached picture which is a snapshot of the screen. Two members keep hanging in the request list for a membership and I finally discovered the reason. They have requested their membership on 29 March, 1981 -- so some 27 years ago! Whoo! LI must be the very first social network on the Internet as they started even before the net was first invented. I hope I could soon approve these poor guys as they have waited way too long to become members in my group (which I -- by the way -- created only a year ago).
