  1. FOIL HANDLING/CONVERTING ENGINEER: Develop and sustain con verting processes for thin film solar cells at the pilot and production scales, with primary emphasis on mechanical aspects of web-based coating, printing, winding, slitting and singulation of metal webs. Experience with high temperature processing highly desirable.  The successful candidate will work with process and design engineers to specify equipment, choose vendors, refine processes, continually increase yield and optimize robust pilot scale manufacturing operations, moving rapidly into high volume production.  The initial job scope will be very hands-on, with the potential to grow with a fast-moving, dynamic company.  Minimum requirements: BS in mechanical engineering or closely related field, plus three years industrial experience with continuous metal foil processing.

 

  1. Manufacturing Engineer Coater: Conceives, develops, and evaluates plans and criteria for the completion of process improvement projects and programs in a cost efficient manner. Qualification Requirements:    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or Physical Science Field or the equivalent. 3-8 years process engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment. Will have specific experience in vacuum deposition technology.   Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards, statistical methods and SPC tools. Glass, Photovoltaics and/or thin film deposition experience preferred. Required Skills:  Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes;  Knowledge of Engineering Techniques and Practices; Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and SPC tools; Robust Engineering/design of experiments, Six Sigma and FMEA  Proven quality Skills; Proven Technical Problem solving skills to include inter-personal applications;  Possess excellent data analysis and collection skills; Knowledge of MS Office suite and statistical software;  Good Communications Skills; Essential Functions & Responsibilities:  Responsible to develop, continually improve, and document robust solar module manufacturing processes to achieve the highest product performance in a cost efficient manner. Responsible to interface with other Company, customer and supplier representatives; Evaluate new proposed equipment according to process standards;  Plans process experiments, collects and analyses data and reports experiment results; Develops and enforces standard operating procedures and accurate process description; Maintains effective communications levels and fosters Team Building; Documents Process Parameters according to process description; Adheres to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.

 

  1. Manufacturing Supervisor: The manufacturing supervisor will lead a team of technicians who are responsible for the flow of product across several unique and specialized semiconductor wafer processing platforms.  The supervisor will facilitate coordination of activity and material for both production and R/D, maintaining proper priorities to meet customer and developmentally driven objectives.  The successful candidate will also be a member of the operations team and will participate in the development and growth of this dynamic start-up company. Responsibilities:Safety of work force and work area; Plan and monitor work flow to meet both R/D and production demand; Daily and weekly output goals, maintenance of manufacturing performance metrics; Daily engagement with technician team to ensure that priorities and deliveries are met; Regular feedback to management team on issues and opportunities Relevant material purchases; Develop, write or co-write and validate production work instructions; Partner with engineering team to ensure efficiency and quality objectives are defined and met; Partner with management team to help evolve Company into a successful high performance manufacturing entity  Requirements:BS or greater in a technical discipline desirable; 3-5 years supervisory experience in relevant high tech industry is essential; Hands on experience in a manufacturing environment is essential; Experience with high tech and/or semiconductor processes highly desirable; Highly developed people leadership and management skills is essential; 3 years logistics, planning and/or materials management skills is highly desirable; Practical knowledge and skill with MS Office software tools, particularly Excel and MS Project

Senior Thin Film Engineer: Develop advanced thin film products for optical applications in IR visible and UV regions from concept and film design based on customer specifications, prototype fabrication and new production, to successful implementation in manufacturing and follow-support. Technical support to manufacturing, including development, or improvement of process control methods, productivity improvement, process troubleshooting and training or production personnel. Continuous improvement of thin film coating processes based on analysis of manufacturing process data combined with in depth understanding of technology and customer requirements. Performing statistical analysis of production data aimed at optimization of productivity. Support Marketing with customer specific technical evaluations for existing products and performing feasibility studies for new products. Advanced optical metrology. Lead and direct the work of others. Requirements: Advanced skills and experience in design of thin film optical filters and reflectors for applications in IR, visible and UV regions. Expert skills with FilmStar or other optical thin film design software. Broad knowledge of processes and techniques used in fabrication and evaluations of optical thin films. Solid knowledge of sputtering, evaporation and IAD. Proficient in MS Office software. Experience in programming and application of analytical software. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. At least 8 years in optical coating industry. Experience with design and fabrication of optical coatings for military applications.

Formulator: Company is seeking a motivated candidate for the position of Formulator.  This position will be responsible for advancing technology by designing and implementing product development work plans for the formulation and testing of inkjet printable conductive polymer inks for use in thin-film organic electronics applications. Responsibilities:Design/implement product development work plans; Participate in hands-on formulation activities; Perform the application and characterization of inks; Define quality procedures; Source appropriate raw materials; Interact with the manufacture team for scale-up activities; Interact with customers (customer testing and feedback. Thin Films Development Project Leader: Responsibilities: Individual must plan and execute successful projects that lead to the manufacturing of new coatings and or processes for existing coatings on Glass. The Project Leader will be responsible for a small technical team that  translates market requirements into commercially viable products, these products will be global in scope.  Should have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment, must be self-motivated and self-directed, with a demonstrated ability to work well with a diversity of colleagues. Must be driven with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and adaptable to changing environments.   The position requires true leadership across the global network of plants, suppliers, and supporting departments.  Requirements: BS Degree in Engineering (electrical/mechanical), Physics, Chemistry, Material Sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in thin films (optical and/or other coatings).Successful track record in leading projects and people, with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience. Experienced in surface coatings: hydrophobic, hydrophilic, scratch-wear resistant coatings. Strong manufacturing, product development and technical expertise in thin film technologies. •8.      Printing Process Engineer: Company is seeking an inkjet process engineer to help develop Company's solar cell manufacturing process. Company is applying its proprietary process to synthesizing large areas of crystalline silicon which are processed into solar cells using inkjets and other techniques.  The successful candidate would: lead the development of the various inkjet processes co-ordinate experiments and  development plans with the other process steps work closely with ink suppliers interface with tool vendors Essential requirements: Seeking MS with 5 years experience or Ph.D. in Chemical Eng, Materials Eng, or other relevant engineering Understand inkjet operation, nozzle issues, and ink preparation Experience with various inkjet technologies and processes Some background in semiconductors and silicon processing Demonstrated ability to lead a project from design stage to execution Understanding of surface treatments Desired characteristics: Electroplating experience

Engineer-Test and Instrumentation: Responsibilities: Design, set up and support of test and measurement equipment for semiconductor laser production and search and development work  Hands-on experience in free space optics, electronics, and computer controls Generate mechanical drawings and circuit board layouts  Independent data analysis and presentation of results Other requirements:        Bachelors degree or equivalent with significant electronics experience MS Office experience, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Access  Experience with Lab View/GPIB software and systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

They would need to help build a high performance, quality-driven organization. Responsible for establishing and implementing quality systems and reliability validation in design, development and manufacturing some one with start up experience is preferred and laser diode Reliability experience is a plus. Actively facilitate improvements in the new product development process, supplier evaluation and manufacturing control. Define and specify the standards, methods, metrics and inspection procedures for quality assurance of the product including documentation control.
